The Centre delivers high quality simulation training and pursues a thriving research program – with a focus upon improving patient safety and clinical outcomes.
Even the most highly trained, skilled and motivated healthcare professionals can and do make mistakes.
However, with an understanding of human factors and their role in errors, complemented by suitable training, teams can learn to work together optimally, with a greater ability to trap and/or mitigate the consequences of errors.
Our Health Simulation Centre employs Immersive and Simulation-based Learning (ISL) to help professionals improve their individual and teamwork skills, and their knowledge and performance.
The Health Simulation Centre offers highly-regarded courses for busy health care professionals, with an emphasis on situational awareness, communication and sharing information.

Designed for flexibility, the Centre can be configured into a variety of locations that simulate health care settings, such as a nursing home, an operating theatre or a hospital environment.
Our Health Simulation Centre is affiliated with, and accredited by a number of professional associations.
The Health Simulation Centre delivers training for WA Health, including the Emergency Management of Anaesthetic Crises course, a mandatory requirement of the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. We have also received funding support from Health Workforce Australia, now part of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aging.
