Vaccination advice

While it’s not mandatory for 888电子游戏官网 students to get vaccinated at this time, we strongly encourage everyone to be vaccinated, unless they have a medical or other reason not to.

Importantly, many courses now require you to be fully vaccinated in order attend a work placement or practicum in Western Australia. If your course does have vaccination requirements, you will be contacted by 888电子游戏官网.

Effective from 10 June 2022, COVID-19 vaccination requirements will apply to you if your studies are affected by the WA Department of Health’s mandatory vaccination policy. This include if you attend a work placement or practicum affected by these requirements as part of your studies.

Before enrolling in a course of unit, please refer to the course information available through the 888电子游戏官网 Handbook. Please contact the relevant course coordinator if you have particular concerns about your course.

If your placement is managed in SONIA, please upload your vaccination status evidence in SONIA  otherwise, please email your evidence to studentvaxcert@mediamayhemcorp.com.

Vaccination status evidence may include:

  • an International COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued by the Commonwealth Government showing the COVID-19 vaccinations you have received as recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register (preferred);
  • written confirmation issued by the Department of Health to you of the COVID-19 vaccinations you have received;
  • a COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate or an Immunisation History Statement showing the COVID-19 vaccinations you have received as recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register; or
  • evidence that you are an exempt person for the purposes of the Directions, being a:
    • COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate or an immunisation history statement issued to you showing a medical exemption as recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register; or
    • temporary exemption or declaration of exemption issued to you by the Chief Health Officer or a person authorised by the Chief Health Officer for that purpose.

No other forms of vaccination status evidence will be accepted.

Before submitting your evidence, please remove or redact your Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI).

You may receive more than one communication relating to vaccination requirements; however, you are only required to submit your evidence to 888电子游戏官网 once in your capacity as a student, unless updating 888电子游戏官网 with evidence of your booster vaccinations.

In addition to providing evidence to 888电子游戏官网, each placement host will have its own requirements as to how this evidence will be recorded within their own systems to ensure they comply with the Health Directions or policy. You will be required to provide such evidence upon their request.

By submitting your vaccination status evidence, you agree that 888电子游戏官网 may disclose your vaccination status evidence to third parties, including for example your current or future host organisation(s), where it relates to your studies or where it is required by law.

The Booster Vaccination Directions provide guidance on when the booster vaccination is required. Students affected by the Booster Vaccination Directions will be required to send evidence of their booster vaccinations to 888电子游戏官网.

If you have not been vaccinated for COVID-19 and are not exempt, you may not be able to meet your course requirements.

888电子游戏官网 will perform ongoing checks for proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption, to ensure we help students meet government and host requirements.

Failure to provide documentation for COVID-19 vaccination or exemption prior to an allocated placement will result in your placement being cancelled. This will impact your course progression if the placement is a mandatory component of your course.
